Question
Big Crush > from anonymous6 answers
I keep having dreams about my best friend's husband. Not daydreams, but regular old while-i'm-asleep dreams. some of them are sex dreams, but not most of them. in all of them, though, we're both pretty emotional about something or other. like last night's dream, they had another baby and he was crying (happily) about the baby and i was the only one with him. what does this mean? why is he in my dreams? I'm not particular attracted or not-attracted to him -- he's a nice enough guy but nobody special to me, other than that he's BFF's hubby. What do you think I should do about this? Does it have any significance?..

I wouldn't give it too much credence, especially not in terms of the husband himself. I think he's only cropping up in your dreams as a device; perhaps the frequency of his appearances are just your subconscious's way of grabbing your attention. So ask yourself what he represents to you. Is he your way of dealing with your own emotions (possibly about children or fertility? or your friend's status as a mother rather than as a friend)? Or does he represent some archetype or quality -- fidelity, honesty, steadfastness -- that you are somehow either feeling or lacking in your own life? If you approach the dreams from that perspective, rather than wondering if you are secretly harboring a crush on your BFF's hubby, I think you'll be able to use the dreams as a tool to help unlock your emotional mysteries, rather than as a springboard to worry. Hope that helps!..

In my opinion, dreams are just the stuff in your head mixed up in a blender. It doesn't mean much. ..

I dreamed I ate stir fry made of green penis once. Doesn't mean I have a green penis craving. The more you think about this, the more it is in your mind. Shrug it off, girl...

I think that it says something about the emotional state in your own marriage or relationship (or lack thereof)..

I wish I still had that dream-symbol book I had in college. Are they planning to have a baby? I had a dream that my friend Candace and her husband had a baby, and I called her up and told her about my dream. And she was like, NO WAY we're not having kids anytime soon. And then she called me back -- and it turns out when I had my dream she was two weeks pregnant. Maybe you, too, are spookily psychic like me. On the other hand, Adrienne Rich says that poems are like dreams -- you put in them what you don't know you know. I don't know why this guy keeps popping up while you're sleeping. Do you spend a lot of time with him?..

I'd guess that your friend is on your mind, the wife of this husband. But it's nothing to worry about, just your brain doing its strange nighttime thing...
