My girlfriend of 10 months is going to move in with me when her lease runs out...show more
in Dec. The other day she asked me to please cancel my subscription to Playboy magazine by then. She hates that I get the magazine, because she thinks I compare her to the girls in it. I don't - they are nice to look at but I would much rather be w/her, of course. I can't seem to make it clear to her that this is not a threat or demeaning, it's totally separate from our relationship. Is it fair of her to ask me to cancel the mag? Guys, would you do it to please you gf or would you stand your ground?..Vote:

Okay, I'm going to call this guy my stepfather, simply because it's...show more
an easier title. No, he and my mom aren't technically married, but he lives with us. I have a sort of love/hate relationship with him because we have the same sense of humour, and yet he's so arrogant and self righteous that it really drives me mad. Anyway.....What he did with his daughter is, (she's in her 30s with a family now) whenever she would bring..guy home to meet him, he would tell her (not in front of the guy, obviously) that he's not good enough/ he's not the one she'd marry. She would get angry, yell at him, telling him he was wrong, and then, as it turned out, he was right. Call me what you will, but, I think that's psycho-manipulative. If a kid is told this by their parents, they might outwardly rebel, but really, they take it to heart and it can sabotage the relationship. Now, this might not be the case with her, but it's a valid argument, isn't it?..Well, he's started doing it to me. Given, he never said anything about my ex until after we broke up, but now he's telling me things like "Oh, you say you love him now, but in 6 months you'll have a new guy." The thing is -- my boyfriend and I are talking about getting engaged next year, and married the next. (We've allotted this amount of time to make sure things work before we make any drastic moves. Plus, by then we'll be 21+ (he's less than a year older than I am) and in a place where we can be more sure-footed about a commitment like this. I know I'm bound to make mistakes, and that's why we're trying to be smart about this...I suppose my question is -- how can I keep him from "getting to me"? I want to make it clear that I'm not rebelling -- I'm not yelling at him and saying "You're wrong! We're IN LOVE *whine whine*" Usually, I'll just shrug and say "Okay, but I'll let my love life play out for itself and not according to you."..What should/shouldn't I do?....I should also mention that he was married at 19. Do with that information what you will...

What would you do in this situation? A girl I met online and i met up in person...show more
for the first time, we went out to dinner. As soon as I got to the restaurant I saw that she had a little gift bag on the table, and she gave it to me as soon as we said hello and how are you and all that. It was a book, and a CD, and a fancy little truffle-chocolate thingy from a local candy shop, and a funny bumper sticker that referenced something we'd joked about over email. Very cute, all of it, and thoughtful, but almost TOO thoughtful, like she'd sat up nights thinking about what to get me - and all this before we even met in person! We had only emailed/textd/talked on the phone before that. Is that weird? It just strikes me as a little - stalky. Am I wrong? Am I reading into this, and shoudl I just accept the gifts at face value? WWYD?..Vote:

off-I have so many guys contacting me and emailing me! it's kind of exciting. problem is i can't fit them all in! So a question, is it OK, do you think, to double-book? I have two guys that want to see me Sat night, one is having a party late night and the other one wants to take me to dinner. is there anything wrong with going to dinner then excusing myself and going to the party?..

I've been dating this amazing guy for 2 months. We've been seeing each...show more
other practically everyday and just really enjoying each other's company...He asked me to be his gf and told me he loves me practically 2-3 weeks after we met. Since then, I've met his parents and he's met mine...He seems to be very serious and every now and then he'll bring up marriage or he'll talk of our future together...We're seniors in college so the "what's next?" conversation is inevitable. Any plans he ever mentions always involve me...He's used the word wife a couple of times...It feels great but how seriously can I take what he says? Thus far, he has given me absolutely no reason to doubt him (no unanswered phone calls, strange/secretive behavior). Any advice? Thank you =)..Vote:
