Brunch never seemed to me like an extra-short date that I'd use to pawn someone off you know? Breakfast, especially at a decent restaurant, takes FOREVER most times. Maybe he has a busy schedule...
..
And even if he's picking this to be more casual, that shouldn't matter. Just because he doesn't want to bring you to a wine tasting to start out doesn't mean he's thinking it's a bad idea. If he continually only does brunch though, THEN you might want to second guess it a little bit ; )..

Being as you're just meeting online - he probably already had his friday and saturday lined up with dates (with others he's met online no doubt before you). Don't take that personally. The fact that he wants a brunch with you and not just coffee means he is sincerely interested...

He's being creative in that he wants an exit strategy that isn't too costly or time consuming..if things don't click. There is nothing wrong with that, and tying your worth as a date to a mealtime is a bad strategy on your part...

I'll bet he's either trying to be creative, or trying to take some of the pressure off by suggesting a daytime date rather than the full-nine-yards nighttime kind. ..
..
Or maybe he just really likes mimosas and eggs Benedict...

I wouldn't let this concern cloud your date. Go to brunch, have a ball, eat lots of bacon, drink some bloody Marys, and see what happens. It's hard to determine a man's interest level before you've even met, and it can always change during a fun-filled, charismatic meal together, anyway...

Yea I agree that this seems like a fun and creative date rather than a half-assed thing...The more casual factor is also good because you do not have to worry about the stress of a big date and you can just relax and chill out about things...
