Here's that question

On the surface, the idea that he's working a different job (and longer hours) in order to be able to spoil you with material things seems really sweet. But I'm reading between the lines (well, actually, I'm just reading the lines further down) and the bit about "he won't listen to me" indicates that perhaps he didn't really take this job for your sake. If he's selfish enough to not listen to your concerns, then he's probably not as altruistic as he's trying to make himself out to be. Tell him you'd rather have his presence than his money, and if he doesn't believe you or listen to you, find someone who will take your opinion into consideration...

Bummer. Were you complaining about not going to nicer places before? Does he want the car just so you can go out more? Or does he just want to have a car (like a lot of guys)?..

Maybe ask him if he'd be willing to scale back on the shifts. Tell him you're willing to stay in and watch movies, or eat at McDonald's...

You have to talk to him and tell him that you'd rather see him more often and have less money. Maybe there are other places he/ you can cut back or economize so you can go out once in a while. You also don't have to go out together to be romantic or have fun. try cooking together (for fancy meals) or going to free events like concerts at your local college or town-sponsored events like concerts in the park. or just go on picnics together or go window shopping and dream together about your future. Also sex is free when you have a bf. :) It sounds like he doesn't quite know how to prioritize, so you really need to step in and show him how to have a good time without spending so much money, and tell him to cut back on the work so he can see you more often...
