Here's that question

We have unspoken rules. They're not much more elaborate than basic respect and common sense would dictate -- neither one of us would dream of calling the other a mean name, even in our worst fights (at least, not aloud). Neither would we mock each other. We mostly fight fair. We do go to bed with our anger, though, as sometimes we need a break or are exhausted or both. But we always pick back up where we left off, after we've had a chance to process and rest and regroup...

By bf and I don't name call or insult each other. If we need a break for a few minutes so it doesn't escalate that's ok.... but there has to be some sort of discussion to resolve the disagreement so no one feels resentful or abandoned/misunderstood. We do our best to stay on topic (not mention past disagreements or mistakes we've made) & talk about how we are feeling rather than blaming each other. We talked about this before & just agreed no "dirty" fighting will go on. Even when we argue, we still love each other. I used to fight dirty with my ex and it was a disaster.... it's not the way to go...
