Nice leather sandals are OK. Keens or other, similar, sporty all-weather all-terrain sandals are great. Flip flops can be OK if they are really stylish leather ones, or preppy plaid ones, but they're best at the beach or at really casual events like summer barbecues. Birkenstocks, never. Tevas, never. ..

Not a fan of the rubber flip flops type, not even for women actually, but a good looking leather sandle with shorts is a nice casual look for men but NO socks tho..... absolutely no socks...

Only ok if he is at the beach. And even at the beach I am not a fan of flip flops more so just the slip on sporty sandals...And if he wears socks with it....that is the end of it...
