OK, sorry. I just couldn't resist. First, are you female or male? I have the sense that you are troubled by this for personal reasons -- if you are male, perhaps it's some kind of Oedipal ickiness? And if you are female, could be plain ol' jealousy, especially if you're not currently in a relationship. Either way, or even if you deny those possibilities unequivocally, I think you need to sit down with yourself and examine the feelings that are roiling underneath that thin veneer of freaked-out-ness. Second, have you thought about this from your mom's perspective? In other words, "Go Mom!" If she's happy, you ought to be too. Deal with whatever issues you have that are affecting your ability to celebrate your mother's exciting news with her, and then raise a toast to the ol' girl...

There are a lot of men who are attracted to older women. I know that the sereotype is that men ALWAYS want to be with younger women. I'd always thought that myself. It's kind of like some men like blondes, some men like Asian women, some men like tall women and then there are some men who like a woman 45 and older (or whatever). If your mom is happy that is all that matters. Also, does he treat her well? Does he respect her? Does he respect you? Those are the only things that matter. Age becomes irrelevant..after a certain age. If they find each other attractive and interesting, then so be it. They are consenting adults. If you mom is happy, she will be more alive and excited about life which translates to her being a happier mom to you overall. And you are 30. Get on with your own life and quit worrying about what age your mom's boyfriend is!..

Eh, you're mom's getting her groove back. Or she's continuing her groove. Your mom is groovy! That young gentleman caller thinks so, too. ..
It's understandable that you'll be weirded out by the age difference, and probably by anyone your mom dates, no? I've never experienced this personally, but doesnt' that usually seem to be the case? Keep in mind if the tables were turned with age and gender, people don't make as big of a deal about it, so there's still that double standard. ..
Hopefully, once you adjust more to the situation, if you can see that she is happy, it will make you happy...

I understand why it may seem weird to you, my mom has dated guys 10 years younger and I too was a bit sketched out. However, if they are on an equal maturity level and you..know he is after your mom for the right reasons then it shouldn't really be a huge deal...Just be glad she is happy!..

It is totally weird. But, your mom is very trendy. She's like Demi Moore...

Is your mom happy? Then that is what you can tell yourself to get over it...
